Waiting and more...

Another night at work and I can't stand it. Some of my friends have started back to grad school and I wish so much that I would have done the same. Even though I know it is not always the most fun, school gave my life a focus and a system to measure my growth. In the "real" world it seems like that system has been replaced with how much I earn.
So to my main point- I am sitting here typing, thinking about my future in Slovenia, and can't stand being in limbo. How long does it take to shuffle some documents and produce a residence permit? I imagine my papers sitting in some over-cluttered office in Ljubljana- like the days of the Austrian Empire's bureaucratic surrogate- with a clerk eyeing the ink on the left side of one of my translated documents. I figure the turn time on something like this should be two weeks max. Maybe the internet has spoiled me with instant results.
I am really getting excited about learning in Slovenia. I really still cannot believe that I hooked this gig up at all. Hard work does pay if only 38,000 tolars per month. It's all about the tutoring so that I can live like a normal human being and travel.
